Joseph’s Goal hits Australia as Wigan teacher Emma Brown completes a thrilling skydive at Mission Beach on the Great Barrier Reef. Over £1,000 raised with money still coming in. Great effort much appreciated.
A five hour Spinathon for 40 people at Total Fitness, Wigan, combined with an open day, raffle, tombola and cake stall, was an excellent fundraiser for Joseph’s Goal. Thanks to organisers Alison Durkin and Mark Gore and all who contributed.
Joseph travelled across the Irish Sea to watch Uncle Rob return home to complete the Isle of Man Half Marathon on a warm summer’s day.
In a hotly contested game, the Wigan Evening Post won 12 – 5 against their Lancashire Evening Post colleagues from Preston.
A full South Stand Suite at the DW stadium witnessed an entertaining Q & A session with Latics manager Uwe Rosler and chief executive Jonathan Jackson, hosted by George Riley of BBC Radio FiveLive. In dreadful conditions in the Lake District, Mark Gore completed the toughest 10k in the UK, the Total Warrior Challenge. Well done!
Thank you to birthday girl Eleanor Crooks, Aaron Bower, Simon Wilkes and Chris Devine, who completed the Leeds 10K on a hot day. Chris was disappointed with his time and challenged friends to donate £1 for every minute he knocks off it in the Wigan 10K in September.
